Regulatory Information
Many end-users are now requiring regulatory statements of compliance for their base label materials. If you have been asked to provide this type of information, we have people who can help you through the process. When submitting a regulatory/compliance request, it is helpful to know what regulation is involved (REACH, REACH list of SVHC, CPSIA, CONEG, Toxics in Packaging, RoHS/WEE, etc.) If you are unsure, Technical Consulting can help determine which regulation is applicable. Our Technical Consulting Hotline number is 877.210.5104, or you can submit a general information request.
BS5609 Certifications
British Standard 5609 is a specification for printed pressure sensitive labels for marine use. BS5609 testing, which includes a 3-month exposure of labeled plates in salt water, is a requirement for self adhesive drum labels needing International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) certification. The following Spinnaker products have been tested by Pira International and conform to BS5609: 1986 Section 2 - 'Maritime and Laboratory Performance of Label Base Materials.'

ISO Certification
While we are aware that many PS label customers have become certified to ISO9000, QS9000 or other similar standards to improve their business practices, Spinnaker has established a Quality Management System that is in compliance with applicable ISO 9000:2004 and Good Manufacturing Practices to assure the quality of the products and services provided. We have elected not to become registered by a 3rd Party Registrar, in the belief that our organizational commitment, as described above, holds us to an even higher standard.
We encourage customers to visit our facility to see, first-hand, the practices established to provide you, our customer, the quality, service and delivery that you count on. Our Quality System Manual is available upon request and a plant visit can be arranged to assure you that we meet any quality requirements you might have for a PS Label Supplier.
PAT - Photographic Activity Test (Per ISO 18916)
ISO 18916 is a test designed to insure that if the face sheet and/or adhesive comes in contact with a photograph, the image will not fade or yellow. This specification does not address the mounting of photographs, such as the holding strength of the adhesive or lack of adhesion over time. The attached pdf shows the results for Spinnaker adhesives and facestocks that have undergone Photographic Activity Testing.
