PRINTING AND CONVERTING TIPS

TIP #4 Die Lubrication

In order to preserve die life and reduce adhesive build-up in the die cavity, it is a good idea to continually lubricate the die during converting. The best method is to rig a piece of heavy foam padding against the die and adding a lubricating agent to the foam. WD-40 is a good choice as well as other spray silicones, care should be taken to prevent over-spray, application by a roller or a cloth is recommended. Care should also be taken to insure any lubricant is acceptable to the end use, not recommended when used in food contact applications.
