SFA™ film-specific adhesive now available from Spinnaker Coating Troy, Ohio – January 21, 2008 – Spinnaker Coating has launched SFA™ (Spinnaker Film Adhesive) – a clear, general purpose, acrylic permanent adhesive designed specifically for application to film facestocks. SFA exhibits excellent adhesion to polyethylene, polypropylene, and glass, and is well-suited for small cylindrical labeling. This adhesive has stable, consistent, low release making it conducive to high-speed dispensing. In lab testing, SFA outperformed comparable products on both quick stick and ultimate adhesion to low and high surface-energy plastics. Appropriate market uses include both prime and variable label applications, including health and beauty and pharmaceutical. SFA adhesive is suitable for indirect food contact applications in compliance with FDA 21 CFR 175.105; has no natural rubber latex; and, is glove friendly. SFA also complies with FDA 16 CFR 1500.3 for oral toxicity and FDA 16 CFR 1500.3 (c) (4) for primary dermal irritation. The minimum application temperature is 40° F with a service range of –40° to 200° F. SFA adhesive is currently stocked on 40# liners with clear, white, and metallized polypropylene facestocks, and will be trimless from Troy in February. SFA is a trademark of Spinnaker Coating, LLC.
