Troy, Ohio – April 18, 2005 - Spinnaker Coating has released Insight™ a new line of film on film pressure sensitive constructions. The current line consists of four film facestocks, an ultra clear adhesive, and a premium 1.2 mil polyester liner. All constructions are offered Trimless out of the Troy, Ohio facility. 2.0 mil TC Clear Conformable BOPP, a new face sheet for Spinnaker, is designed for applications requiring a full squeeze “no label” look and is well suited for out-of-round, irregularly-shaped packaging applications. In testing conducted at an outside lab, Spinnaker’s Conformable outperformed the competition’s similar constructions after 40+ squeezes. The other facestocks initially included in the Insight launch are 2.0 mil TC Clear Polypropylene, 2.3 mil TC White Polypropylene, and 2.6 mil TC White Label-Lyte®. All four facestocks are paired with Spinnaker’s new 20-20™ adhesive; an ultra clear, acrylic emulsion with very good wet out characteristics. 20-20 has a high shear value, is excellent for tight mandrel applications, produces a dry edge when slit, and is manufactured with an extremely even coating profile, thus reducing the likelihood of telescoped rolls. Spinnaker’s 1.2 mil polyester liner has a premium release system, offering an exceptionally consistent release range, which ensures reliable converting and dispensing. In film on film constructions the liner is not just the carrier, it’s an integral part of the entire label structure. The polyester liner works together with the clear facestock and clear adhesive to give an optically clear label application. Insight and 20-20 are trademarks of Spinnaker Coating, LLC.
